Proverbs 6 feels like sitting with an elder who has seen enough of life to know what destroys a person and what preserves them. The chapter moves beyond simply listening to wisdom and begins calling for obedience — because admiration alone cannot sustain a life with God.

Sometimes wisdom isn’t about avoiding wrong, but recognising where you’ve been misaligned. Proverbs 5 showed me that what you pour into, what you take, and what you allow access to will always shape what you become.

Wisdom is greater than anything you desire—but it must be pursued, guarded, and lived. Proverbs 3 and 4 remind us that trusting God requires more than prayer; it requires action.

When we live in faith, Heaven echoes through us. But without intimacy with Christ, that echo fades—not because God is silent, but because we’re not positioned to hear. I am sure we have all been in a place where we have said to God or to ourselves, Oh, I will meet you again next year and start again in a different season because you didn’t feel committed, or you were in right standing with God. A part of you must have felt that you would be in a better position next year, or might have more to offer or nothing else, so less to sacrifice.
